Panagiurishte
The town of Panagyurishte is located in a small valley in Sashtinska Sredna Gora (part of the Balkans). It is approximately 91 km. far from Sofia, to the east, at 43 km. north of Pazardjik and at 37 km. south of Zlatitsa. Its name has Greek origins and means “fair venue”, but it became the symbol of the Bulgarian striving for freedom.Landmarks in Panagiurishte

- The native house of the Bulgarian professor and first minister of education in newly liberated Bulgaria – Marin Drinov.

- In 1949 near Panagiurishte was discovered the Golden treasure of Panagyurishte – unique in the world with its original shapes and decorations.
