Palace of Culture
The National Palace of Culture is the largest multifunctional complex in Southeastern Europe, member of ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), AIPC (International Association of Congress Palace), BCB (Bulgarian Convention Bureau). The National Palace of Culture was built by the Daughter of The Communist Regime leader - Ludmila Jivkova. The building was designed to be the cultural center of Sofia. Here were hosted National Peace assembleys ( There were festivals organized by Liudmila Jivkova about art and culture. Inviting kids from alot of different counties through the world to get to know Bulgaria and feel the Bulgarian hospitality). NDK (called by the Bulgarians Natzionalen Dvoretz na Kulturata), is located in the very heart of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, in the middle of a beautiful park with the magnificent view of Vitosha Mountain in the background. The National Palace of Culture is surrounded by museums, historical and cultural sites of interest, financial institutions and some of the best hotels and restaurants.
It was built during the communist regime, and now it is used as a congress centre and also houses several large concert halls, exhibition space, offices, cinemas, restaurants and shops.The 16 halls, with seating capacity ranging from 50 to 4 000, are equipped with modern technology, providing simultaneous interpretation in 14 languages, press center, phone, fax, telex, e-mail. The National Palace of Culture is the biggest Congress Centre in the Balkans and many cultural events are held there. Loads of facilities like cafes, bars, restaurants, night clubs, bowling and shops help people relax and enjoy their stay.
